I bought my Golf 7 like 3,5 months ago and previous owner has disabled the EGR and DPF on the car. I guess it’s already clogged. I did stage 1 chip tuning a week ago and tried to drive up to 200 km/h but I barely managed to do that and I start to hearing whistling noise from turbocharger. From that day on I hear it all the time regardless if I am speeding or just idling. Noise disappears when I,
- Disconnect wastegate socket
- Remove the hose from N75
- Remove vacuum hose from wastegate
I went to 3 different mechanics but all of them recommended me to replace whole turbocharger unit. I don’t want to believe that I have to change whole thing. Any ideas?
I had similar issue couple years ago and problem caused by very tiny breaks on the hoses. So I would recommend you to check them very carefully or if it’s possible do a leakage test.
I couldn’t do the leakage test but I replaced all hoses but still have same noise.
